HunaTek is seeking a
Project Scheduler with experience supporting projects for the Department of Defense (DoD). The Project Scheduler will utilize change and schedule management experience to effectively manage and monitor various DoD acquisition programs. The team member will be responsible for communicating with multi-functional teams to drive deliverables to successful completion.
He/she will be the subject matter expert for all program activities related to scheduling and will provide expertise in the development and maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). The individual will follow best practices in scheduling processes and protocols to ensure vertically and horizontally integrated schedules and scheduling products. He/she will integrate the Program Schedule with an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and other program performance reporting and data systems. The experienced candidate will apply the methods, tools, and techniques that are appropriate for the work requirements and assure that the work products meet quality standards.
The Project Scheduler is responsible for working closely with technical experts, project leads, and project managers in planning, creating, and managing project schedules. He/she should be able to make recommendations for best process control, subcontract integration, mitigation of schedule risk, assignment coordination, task logic, and activity duration.
This position requires work to be conducted in and around the Quantico, VA region approximately 50% of the time.

- Develop and maintain an integrated master schedule (IMS) which will contain program and project level schedule elements using Microsoft Project
- Subject Matter Expert for all program activities related to scheduling and will provide expertise in the development and maintenance of the IMS
- Follow best practices in scheduling processes and protocols to ensure vertically and horizontally integrated schedules and scheduling products
- Work with team members to turn project level requirements into a time phased project schedule
- Assess and provide recommendations to team members regarding schedule creation, maintenance, and layout
- Create custom project views and reports on request
- Coordinate with program/project teams to develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for incorporation into the IMS and identify level-of effort to support appropriate resource loading/planning activities
- Develop, document, and implement a consistent scheduling methodology
- Provide weekly updates on active project status
- Proactively identify and enable program management priorities based on information and priorities articulated in meetings, applications, and master schedule to provide recommendations on how to reduce risk
- Provide impact analysis of changes of requirements or priorities on the program schedule and critical path
- Actively participate in program/project meetings to provide direction and guidance on schedule activities
- Provide input to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports regarding the schedule baseline, performance against the schedule, and associated schedule risks/mitigations
- Conduct evaluations of program schedules, comparing the schedule baseline to actual performance
- Responsible for working closely with technical experts, project leads, and project managers in planning, creating, and managing project schedules.
Minimum Required Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, science, math, business administration or humanities
- Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
- 5+ years’ experience working in project schedules managing large Integrated Management Schedules (IMS) in MS Project, Primavera, or similar scheduling software for Department of Defense Acquisition programs
- Industry certifications in schedule development and management: PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
- Scheduling experience using Microsoft Project or similar tools
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 experience
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Understanding of agile methodologies and scrum framework to best incorporate into the IMS
- Must be able to effectively communicate with Project Managers, Control Account Managers (CAM), and other stakeholders
Preferred Education/Qualifications:
- Scrum Certification
- DoD ACAT I program experience
- Direct experience with DoD / Navy / Marine Corp
