INTRODUCTION TO ROLE
The Property Staff Accountant is responsible for multi-property hospitality accounting support, including preparation and execution of month-end closings, preparation of financial statements, tax reconciliations, cash management, accounts payable/receivable and general ledger accounting.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Prepares and executes month-end closing statements, including completion of entries and audits for accuracy. Work closely with property controllers and General Managers of assigned properties to ensure accurate and timely entry of invoices and payables.

  • Responsible for completion and accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations for assigned properties and general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Complete monthly and/or quarterly sales and use, occupancy, and other tax-related reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Review daily, weekly and monthly reports from the properties to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Complete weekly bank reconciliations and cash position reports.
  • Responsible for reviewing the accuracy and posting of accounts payable and completing weekly accounts payable check runs.
  • Support budget development, entry, and management processes with Property Accounting Manager, General Manager, and operations teams for assigned properties.
  • Support new property onboarding and development with the transition team, including account setup, report creation and procedural training, and other related tasks.
  • Supports the development of policies, controls, systems, and financial studies of matters of importance.
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides regular and reliable attendance.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The Property Staff Accountant reports to the assigned Property Accounting Manager.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred
  • 5-7 years of Hospitality accounting and bookkeeping.
  • 5-7 years of bookkeeping, accounts payable or receivable experience and demonstrate a familiarity with basic accounting principles and procedures
  • Strong proficiency in property accounting systems (Sage Intacct and M3 experience preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is a sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
