Prototype/IPEMA Testing Technician
We are seeking to add a motivated, assertive, self-starter with a positive attitude to join our team as a Prototype/IPEMA testing technician in the Monett, MO area. This individual will be responsible for supporting business goals by performing all necessary machine and bench operations to construct, test alter, and repair prototypes and custom products.
The position also requires the ability to read Cad drawings, knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing technology, and skill in mathematics and trigonometry. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all necessary machine and bench operations to construct, test, alter, and repair prototypes using a wide range of manufacturing materials and processes.
Works from CAD drawings and sketches, using a wide range of manufacturing technology, and applies mathematics and trigonometry to perform calculations. Data and specifications are provided by the Product Design Engineers.
Applies knowledge of production methods and creative problem-solving to building and testing prototypes with intricate design.
Revises existing prototypes or products to reflect engineering changes.
Uses precision measuring instruments, provides layout of prototype parts, completes difficult machine set-ups, and fabricates items from a variety of equipment to exacting tolerances.
Constructs jigs, fixtures, and tools incidental to operations as needed.
Tests prototypes and validations to applicable standards and records results.
Maintains accurate report writing and record keeping as required by ISO procedures, legal department and Product Design Engineer.
Completes routine clerical work, answers interdepartmental calls, and coordinates outside services as needed.
Demonstrates ability to work effectively, both individually and in teams by making suggestions for new products and possible improvements regarding materials, manufacturing methods, or sources.
Displays ability to stay self-motivated and complete tasks while working with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel short distances, such as to and from an install work site. Also, position will require some unplanned overtime and limited travel. May require flexible work hours.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Metal fabrication experience required (including but not limited to tubing, sheet steel, welding, etc).
Computer familiarity a plus
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma required.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as, communicate and comprehend ideas and concepts with co-workers and Product Design Engineers.
Demonstrates ability to schedule, organize, and manage tasks to timely completion.

Demonstrates ability to create accurate, properly detailed prototypes and custom products
Demonstrates knowledge and ability in mathematics, trigonometry, manufacturing methods, computer operation and welding
Demonstrates ability to achieve high productivity, quality, and to meet deadlines.
Understands and complies with requirement to keep data confidential.
Maintains an excellent attendance record.
Maintains updated knowledge of all PlayPower manufacturing practices and actively works to achieve safety goals.
Has ability to help with other tasks to maximize capacity and complete projects during peak periods of work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Prototype/Custom Technicians handle multiple tasks primarily in the Research and Development Department. The Research and Development Department area is separated from the manufacturing area but employee may be required to enter and exit manufacturing area to complete job assignments. Moderate noise level.
