Position Description

The Public Space Attendant is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the hotel’s public space areas by cleaning all assigned areas thoroughly on a daily basis and performing deep cleaning projects as assigned while providing exemplary customer service to guests and staff.

Position Responsibilities:

The award-winning Country Inn & Suites-Mall of America is looking for a FT Public Space Cleaner to join their Housekeeping Staff. The FT Public Space Cleaner position is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the hotel’s public space areas by cleaning all assigned areas thoroughly on a daily basis and performing deep cleaning projects as assigned while providing exemplary customer service to guests and staff. The FT Public Space Cleaner is also responsible for occasionally providing airport and mall transportation to guests via the hotel shuttle. Other specific duties include:

  • Cleaning all assigned public areas
  • Cleaning public restrooms
  • Completing work projects as assigned by supervisor
  • Cleaning and polishing floors, windows, mirrors, vending machines, etc.
  • Vacuuming, shampooing and removing spots from carpets
  • Removing all litter from public space and Parking lot
  • Dusting thoroughly
  • Adhering to safety precautions and procedures for using hazardous chemicals
  • Maintaining supply cart
  • Reporting maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Assist with Hotel delivery and putting away supplies

Position Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate would have experience cleaning in a professional environment
  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to work occasional weekends and holidays
  • Ability to maintain several projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to bend, squat and reach on a frequent basis
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Ability to lift, pull, push up to 50 pounds on an ongoing basis
  • Must be able to squat, bend, kneel and twist on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds
  • Other duties as assigned
