Job description
Orders, receives, inventories, and rotates medical-surgical supplies for the emergency department. Controls costs. Maintains all storage rooms in a neat and orderly fashion. Maintains par levels for supplies, as appropriate. Takes periodic inventories to reconcile supply counts. Processes all paperwork in a timely manner. Maintains files as appropriate.

- Performs daily inventory of supply room and area material points as directed. Will conduct cyclic inventories of storeroom as directed and adjusts par levels. Restocks using proper rotation, organization and identification and will maintain an inventory system to decrease expired supplies.
- Follows Materials Management protocols for processing purchase orders. Responsible for Ordering specialty and capital supplies/items
- Properly selects transports and delivers supplies (medical/surgical material, charts, office products, oxygen tanks, etc.) and equipment from point of storage to point of use.
- Maintains records of issue and receipt on all equipment released through General Stores and Purchasing.
- Audits transactions to ensure accuracy before entry into MEDITECH.
- Works with Central Stores to cost share necessary low use items
- High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of one-year experience as a materials handler/distributor, medical setting preferred. Computer knowledge required. Experience with the Materials Management module of Meditech a plus. Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals
