BASIC FUNCTION

Under direct oversight and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, provides support not only to the QC department itself, but the Company as a whole, by inspecting parts at various stages of the production process. The QC Inspector supports the Production Manager-directed priorities of work orders scheduled for inspection (First Piece, Intermediate, outgoing for Outside Service, Incoming, and Final), and is responsible for ensuring that said incoming and outgoing parts are manufactured in compliance with Company and Customer predetermined quality standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Reads blueprints and/or specifications to understand and apply the requirements of products to accurately and legibly process work orders.

2. Measures product dimensions, examines functionality, and compares the product to required specifications to ensure final products meet Customer expectations and Company standards.

3. Documents inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports. Communicates the results of inspections, and provides corrective suggestions (where necessary) to the Quality Manager and/or manufacturing.

4. Utilizes all types of gaging/standard inspection equipment (micrometer, caliper, height gage, etc.) to inspect parts in accordance with the appropriate output samples and inspection methods defined on provided inspection guide sheets.

5. Assists Quality Manager, Manufacturing, and/or Engineering in the performance of First Piece and First Article inspections when needed.

6. Works independently and/or within a team on special/non-recurring ongoing projects – occasionally includes performing Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies for gages and fixture setups.

7. Proactively identifies and notifies Quality Manager of any quality-related issued found.

8. Maintains a clean work area and contributes to a safe work environment.

9. Supports continuous improvements with regards to the inspection process. This includes providing support to the Quality Manager with any upgrades/revisions to the Quality System where necessary.

10. Acts as a steward of the Medicraft brand, consistently representing and reflecting the Company’s core values, approach, and high standards of excellence in all internal and external interactions.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred; related trade school or quality-control focused business experience a plus.

Experience & Expertise:

- Previous experience in a similar QC-related position. Prior exposure to Medical Device Industry/working in compliance to ISO 13485 and/or ISO 9001 is a plus.

- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

- Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.

- Ability to read and interpret blue prints and specifications. Knowledge of sampling and inspection plans.

- Familiarity with the utilization of measuring instruments such as micrometer, caliper, etc.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management.

- Proven record of success working in a fast-paced, high pressure, deadline-driven work environment.

- Must be a team player with an excellent attitude.

- Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Physical Demands:

- May be required to stand for long periods of time.

- May involve some repetitive motions.

- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

- May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
