We are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Technician to join our Rinker Material’s team at our Deland, FL location.

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Technician to join our Rinker Material’s team at our Deland, FL location. The QC Tech will be responsible to ensure concrete products produced meet ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials), local industry, customer and company specifications as instructed by Rinker Materials

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with existing QC person at the plant to ensure that all concrete testing on required mix designs (Air, Slump Temp, Unit Weight, Cylinders, etc…) and ensure they are properly documented and reported.
  • Insure proper mix designs are programmed and used for each product type.
  • Maintain documentation verifying that production and testing equipment has been properly and accurately calibrated in accordance with local standards.
  • Stamp finished product with QC stamp and item codes (stickers)
  • Perform regular inspection and documentation of Rinker Materials structures.
  • Perform pre-pour and post-pour inspections as outlined by the Rinker.
  • Perform post pour inspections on all Rinker Material products at the plant as outlined by the design drawing.
  • Perform inspections of loads leaving plant to meet accuracy and quality criteria and paperwork (BOL) matches up with delivery.
  • Hold weekly/monthly quality control training meetings and maintain personnel training records.
  • Work primarily outdoor assisting the plant manager where needed and being a key leader to ensure daily QC task are being completed.
  • Work closely with existing Rinker QC people, production crew leader, and management to ensure our customer product meet FDOT specifications.
  • Regular timely attendance to meet company needs in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Perform inventory checks regularly to ensure proper products are at the plant for use.
  • Take proper photos of every load leaving they yard to accurately represent design specifications.
  • Performs special projects or assignments as directed.
  • Effectively communicate with FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) to schedule quarterly audits and ensure we are meeting State requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three plus years’ experience.
  • Two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Operation and adjustment knowledge of all batching related equipment for concrete production.
  • Ability to read and understand production drawings and engineered prints.
  • Verbal and written communication skills understandable by the crew and the plant supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply information from manuals, equipment drawings and Plant Managers instructions for equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, and able to provide instruction and/or constructive criticism professionally.
  • Ability to communicate both in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certified Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I.
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certified Concrete Strength Grade 1
  • PSCA (Precast Concrete Structure Association) Certified QC technician Level 1 and 2
  • Wage may vary depending on experience and certification obtained.
