Quality Control Engineer (NTN Driveshaft Anderson/Anderson, Indiana)

NTN, a world leader in constant velocity technology for the automotive industry, is currently seeking a qualified Quality Control Engineer for our Anderson, Indiana operation. NTN Anderson manufactures Constant Velocity Joints (CVJs) for many of the major OEM automotive companies.

Position Summary:

Responsible for internal product quality, including investigating, analyzing and resolving internal quality issues by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Investigates internal and external quality concerns and oversees corrective actions through implementation and verification.

· Quality disposition of material and maintaining scrap database.

· Oversee initial containment of NG product, sorting projects and offline repair.

· Develops procedures (SOPs) for use in Production and Quality and trains team members.

· Communicates with customers and suppliers regarding complaints, PPAPs, and other requirements.

· Participates on cross-functional teams for new model activities and process development.

· Creates and maintain systems for QC labs.

· Design and procurement of quality gauges and tooling.

· Leads continuous improvement projects.

· Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 1 - 3 years of relevant experience.

· Auditor experience using the process approach and strong understanding of IATF16949 requirements.

· Knowledge of various quality system methodologies, FMEA, Control Plans, AIAG-PPAP, MSA, etc.

· Must have experience with using hand gauges and measuring equipment.

· Ability to read and understand drawings.

· CMM programming knowledge a plus.

· Strong project management skills.

· Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work well cross-functionally and communicate with internal and external parties.

· Strong problem solving skills, including ability to collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions and recommend effective corrective action.

· Ability to organize, plan, allocate resources and prioritize in order to meet multiple overlapping and competing deadlines and strict timelines.

· Strict attention to safety.

· Previous experience with machining and heat treat processes a plus

·Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or in a multi-cultural environment a plus.
