We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Quality Management systems & Programs department. T his role is located in Richmond, VA but is open to remote possibilities!

What we want you to do:

  • Conduct gap assessments and analysis of existing processes and systems against Altria Quality Requirements (AQR) using multi-discipline, multi-functional teams.
  • Lead quality management system (QMS) infrastructure continuous improvement programs/projects to improve the quality and compliance posture of the organization.
  • Provide quality expertise for facility design and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design manufacturing processes and assure that product and process specifications are met in the manufacture of product.
  • Support verification, validation, and deployment of equipment, processes, and systems.
  • Lead or participate in risk assessments to identify and control risks associated with product design and production processes.
  • Provide quality expertise and recommendations to support the design and implementation of business systems. Assist with issues resolution.
  • Ability to perform assignments in an independent and autonomous manner with minimal direct supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information acquired during projects.

We want you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in quality systems and operations in an FDA-regulated environment (i.e., pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food, and dietary supplements). Experience with quality systems related to product development is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of quality and engineering principles and implementing Quality Management Systems.
  • Subject matter expertise in Risk Management and using recognized tools to lead various risk assessment activities.
  • Subject matter expertise in process validation and process performance qualification (PPQ).
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and production control methods.
  • Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) business systems.
  • Perform assignments in an independent and autonomous manner with minimal direct supervision.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills along with a proven ability to collaborate with others with a focus on multicultural communication.
  • Ability to considerately, independently, and persuasively provide critical feedback to the most senior levels of management.
  • Knowledge of computer system validation is preferred.
  • Comfortable working during non-core hours, as required, to assess multiple shifts and operations spanning lengthy periods.
  • Business-related travel is expected to be 10-30% with this position.
