A number of exciting opportunities for Quality Engineers have arisen within our Civil Operations Quality team.
In this role, you will play a key part in achieving our ambition of a true Zero Defects organisation aligned through our Operating principles of Assure, Protect and Enable. You will be assuring compliance to our regulatory and management system requirements, protecting the business by ensuring that non-conformance is manged safely with minimal customer disruption and enabling significant business benefit through driving to Zero Defects. You will be working closely with our domestic and external supply chains to prevent defects and to provide data and insight into the causes of non-quality across our manufacturing footprint.

What you will be doing:
You will be working closely with our domestic and external supply chains to prevent defects, to provide data and insight into the causes of non-quality. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading activities to effectively manage non-conformance and protect the supply chain from Quality escapes.
  • Working with cross functional teams to ensure that build protection strategies are implemented.
  • Providing support in our manufacturing facilities to implement the processes to protect the business against non-conformance.
  • Providing coaching and support to the OBUs by sharing best practise across the organisation on management of non-conformance.
  • Coaching and supporting problem-solving activities with the external supply chain.
  • Providing data and support to the OBUs to monitor and measure the performance and effectiveness of their external supply chain.
  • Providing reports, data and insight into the central and OBU Quality performance and governance reviews.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve Quality and implementing plans to deliver that improvement.

What we’re looking for:

  • Background of working in an operational Quality role.
  • Educated to a minimum Apprenticeship level/or equivalent in a technical engineering discipline.
  • Good problem solving, data analysis and presentation skills
  • Interpersonal savvy, planning and personal organisation skills and the ability to influence others.
  • Demonstrable evidence of business acumen; relating to quality, improvement, manufacturing and HSE activities and priorities.
  • Knowledge and demonstrable application of Quality and BI tools, i.e., 8D investigation, improvement methodologies.
  • Able to coach and mentor others.
  • Good customer focus.
