JOB SUMMARY

Performs and documents quality inspection tasks in one or more production areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Uses precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, to inspect in process and finished parts to ensure adherence to technical drawings and process specifications
  • Documents findings on inspection sheets
  • Processes Material Review Requests for anything found to be out of spec
  • Coordinates closely with Quality Engineering on acceptance of product and any questionable areas of quality conformance
  • Collaborates with operators and leadership regarding product quality
  • Communicates with DCMA/other Customers and technical staff regarding inspection results and other quality issues
  • Performs statistical data analysis to track trends and issues (Histograms, Pareto Charts, Run Charts)
  • Reviews, corrects, and approves route sheets, as needed
  • Inspects palletization with marking diagram

Requirements:

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

  • Six months of experience in manufacturing, preferably in a quality assurance role

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to follow sampling requirements of MIL-STD-1916 using sampling tables
  • Able to follow monthly production code/lot number sequencing of MIL-STD-1168
  • Able to read and follow quality bulletin
  • Able to complete data records, check sheets, etc., for data collection
  • Able to follow gauge instructions
  • Basic math and reasoning abilities
  • Eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF)
  • Willing to work in an environment that requires a “Safety First” attitude. Must obey all Safety, Health & Environmental rules/regulations prescribed by regulatory agencies that are incorporated into company policy
  • Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • On the job training will be required

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to handle energetic and non-energetic material
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
