Full Time Infection Control RN

Mon-Fri. 8-4pm position Mon.-Fri. (Flexible schedule)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform surveillance to identify individual infections in residents and staff and to identify clusters of infection in a timely manner

• Track trends in infection within the facility and report specific infections

• Identify infection control issues (e.g., those identified during environmental rounds) and make recommendations for corrective action

• Prepare the agenda and chair the Infection Control Committee meetings

• Monitor Infection control practices and employee compliance

• Develop and revise infection control policies an procedures and maintain the Infection Control Manual for all departments

• Conduct outbreak investigations and initiate control measures

• Provide orientation and continuing education related to infection control for all staff

• Provide infection control consultation to all departments

• Actively participate in quality assurance performance improvement programs

• Maintain continuing education for current information and new developments in infection control

• The infection Control Professional will report to the Infection Control Committee and to all departments in the facility in recognition of the fact that an effective Infection Control Program necessitates the cooperation of the entire staff

REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, B.S. preferred

Current Licensure/registration in the State of New York

Current BLS/CPR certification
