Who you are: you bring an eye for detail and have at least two years of related accounting or regulatory experience. Law or paralegal backgrounds are also a great fit!

Details: business hours are 8-4:45 PM M-F. Training is in-person. Following training opportunity for hybrid work.

Your day-to-day:

• Receives, responds, and processes in a timely manner all Accounting Department regulatory filings which include:
  • Guaranty Assessment Filings
  • Fraud Filings
  • Miscellaneous regulatory Data Calls
  • Health insurance and Medicare Supplement calls for data
  • State publishing statements
  • A&H Reporting Calls
  • Desk Audits
  • NAIC Statutory requests for information
  • Other various and sundry State regulatory questionnaires or data requests
  • All state regulatory assessments
  • Regulatory Surveys
  • Processing of payment s associated with any of the above
  • Compiles all paperless and paper documentation related to the above
• Project Manager of YE Regulatory Statutory annual filing (different for each of the 50 states, including Gaum, PR, Cayman Islands, Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands)
  • Organizes team/employee meetings
  • Directs team/employee assignments
  • Answers and responds to all team /employee member inquiries and questions
  • Monitors team and individual employee progress
  • Signs off on the completion of Statutory filing process at completion (for all 6 regulatory supervised insurance companies for all 50 states and foreign regulators)
  • Review, organization and reports to management that necessary documentation related to above is complete in conformity with required internal controls.
• Assembles and remits filings of quarterly premium tax returns with individual state insurance departments and or other regulatory bodies.
• Calculate, prepare and remit all required municipal license and fee tax returns and applications.
• Answers all correspondence, email or telephone calls from regulatory bodies.
• Calculates Puerto Rico withholding each month as well and the YE reconciliation of same.
• Oversees all Investment Securities on Deposit in compliance with individual and specific insurance regulations including:
  • Investment security replacements and withdrawals with custodial banks and regulatory banking authorities
  • Notification and reconciliation of same with investment advisors and iA corporate investment division.
  • Monitor the receipt of all interest related payments on same.
  • Reconciles invest suspense between STAT and IFRS (CND ) financial reporting
• Maintains all Company certificates of authority; including annual renewals in compliance with regulatory law.
• Reviews and prepares assigned monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
• Oversees each Company’s corporate service of process authorities and related filings.
