Job Summary:

This engineering leadership role will lead the Plant and Aero teams within the Reliability Engineering organization of Gas Power Technology. The Plant Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of plant, generator and steam turbine reliability modeling, support ITO/OTR and customer projects based engineering, RAMDeck and RAMDeck mini modeling (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability), as well as support digital and content development. This role is critical to support GE’s MYA guarantees by providing quality risk assessments and tools as well as financial impact for GE Power to model contracts against. This position will work with various stakeholders across the Gas Power business including MYA Engineering, IT, GE Digital, design engineering and product management.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the plant, and RAM teams in world class reliability modeling, productivity and customer engineering.
  • Set the direction and coordinate with the supporting organizations in our global centers EDC and GEIQ teams
  • Lead the progression of reliability modelling for steam, generator, BOP, make sure models are updated regularly
  • Execute on all supported customer requisitions for APM and content development
  • Lead/support Reliability based NPI programs
  • Own and update and design RAM and RAMDeck Mini tools for our mutli year agreements organization
  • Maintain, and promote talent within the organization
  • Support Gas Power and ITO/OTR with technical risk input and content development for our customers
  • Develop and maintain Reliability engineering tools to improve capability and drive productivity.
  • Establish and maintain budgets, track operational KPIs and ensure that content is delivered on time
  • Represent GE at customer meetings / user conferences and provide timely technical communication to external and internal customers as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in design, reliability, or power plant domain.
  • Able to travel globally as needed.

Desired Characteristics

  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certified (GE Employees only)
  • GE Analytics Program Certification (GE Employees only)
  • Reliability Practitioner Program Certified (RPP) (GE Employees only)
  • Self-starter able to develop, document, and execute assignments with limited supervision
  • Engineering design and validation experience in gas turbine flange-to-flange equipment including turbine, combustion, compressor, or rotor
  • Experience working in reliability engineering, prior experience in Weibull modeling a plus
  • Experience executing or facilitating FMEAs
  • Ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels including the ability to work in a matrix organization. Experience with leading initiatives cross functionally within GE, involving global, functional and P&L teams.
  • Highly effective communicator with experience in presenting and interacting with customers and senior leadership across the business with a thoughtful, persuasive personal style
  • Strong team building skills. Can energize global teams through inclusiveness and connection with people
