Systems Design and Architecture (SDA) is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD). Supporting this mission are teams providing domain expertise and creative solutions in surveillance, naval and missile defense based radar system design, sonar and undersea sensor system design, integrated air and missile defense systems engineering, command and control/battle management system design, combat system and platform architecture design and integration, operational analysis and simulation modeling research and development, software intensive system engineering, cyber solutions and algorithm development for signal processing, tracking and discrimination systems. Raytheon Missiles & Defense is looking for an analysis and mission planning SME to support the Missile Defense and Sensors (MDS) department on the Requirements Analysis and Mission Planning (RAMD) team. The MDS department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensors to be achieved through our people, processes, technology and performance.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- The SE RAMD team is responsible for the execution of a subset of Systems Engineering scope for the AN/TPY-2 Programs.
- The SME is responsible for the execution of team tasking and assisting with the management, coordination, and execution of the technical, cost and schedule for RAMD. This includes task definition and planning to create milestones and schedules, tracking earned value and managing competing priorities.
- Typical activities executed by the RAMD team include performance assessment tasks surrounding the evaluation of threats, requirements and scenarios to verify system performance, mission planning tasks revolving around the creation and evaluation of radar inputs to support test events and fielding activities.
- The successful candidate will be expected to build the team’s abilities, provide techincal direction, remove roadblocks and be able to work with both internal and external customers.
- They will also be expected to support proposal efforts in support of new business and have knowledge of the financial status and planning for the team.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in SE support of AN/TPY-2
- Experience leading a technical effort
- Experience designing Mission Plans and executing Performance Assessments
- Execution of technical, cost and schedule performance
- Active Secret Security Clearance (DoD) or ability to obtain within one year
Qualifications We Value:
- Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user requirements
- Prior experience with the AN/TPY-2 System and/or Missile Defense programs
- Ability to understand radar systems technology in the areas of radar design and analysis, and systems engineering development
- Experience supporting hiring activities, including interviews and staffing planning
- Familiarity with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) and CMMI-compliant Gate Reviews, (particularly associated with SRR, PDR and CDR).
- Knowledge of and ability to work within the Agile Scrum development practice
- Proven experience with current Missile defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles and metrics
- Existing DoD Security Clearance
- PhD/Master’s Degree in Engineering, or relevant discipline (Math, Physics or Business)
