Job description
The Research Administrator is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Serve as the University’s primary administrative liaison with faculty, sponsors, and collaborating organizations during the proposal development and submission process, and award administration.
- Be responsible for planning, development and submission of grant and contract applications for sponsored projects, in accordance with sponsor-specific regulations, federal policy and University policy.
- Act as university signing official to provide institutional endorsement and certifications on all assigned proposals.
- Provide ongoing consultation and assistance in interpreting sponsor and University guidelines as related to proposal submissions.
- Support a variety of administrative activities related to pending and awarded sponsored projects, such as No Cost Extensions, prior approval requests, and early terminations.
- Provide extraordinary service, outreach, and training to the University research community, collaborating organizations, and external sponsors in the areas of proposal preparation and award administration.
- Maintain expertise on complex and evolving sponsored guidelines, federal regulations, University policy, SPA business processes and systems, and interpret each appropriately to ensure all administration actions comply with the applicable regulations.
- Serve as the liaison to internal and external constituents on complex internal/external policy, procedural and process information pertaining to the area of responsibility.
- Certified Research Administrator certification;
- Experience within a higher education research institution;
- Familiarity with electronic research administration systems.
Position will be posted for a minimum of one week, after which it is subject to removal without notice.
