Research Assistant for Magnetic Resonance Neurography
We are looking to hire a Research Assistant to assist with multiple ongoing and imminent projects related to MRI research of peripheral neuropathy (magnetic resonance neurography). The ideal candidate would be one wishing to spend one or two ‘gap years’, i.e. after completion of a baccalaureate program, to conduct research in an academic and clinical setting. Research Assistant for Magnetic Resonance Neurography
Anticipated Dates: June 2023 to June 2024
We are looking to hire a Research Assistant to assist with multiple ongoing and imminent projects related to MRI research of peripheral neuropathy (magnetic resonance neurography). The ideal candidate would be one wishing to spend one or two ‘gap years’, i.e. after completion of a baccalaureate program, to conduct research in an academic and clinical setting. Current projects and projected roles of the Research Assistant are listed below:
Development of Technology to Extend Scope of MRI in Orthopedics (Ongoing – GE Healthcare support): To develop new software/hardware for MRI
- Recruit volunteer subjects for MRI scans: consent subjects, help oversee scanning
- Peripheral nerve qualitative and quantitative imaging
- Work directly with on-site GE scientist to keep subject lists, assist with postprocessing of scans and analysis
- Assist with literature reviews, as needed, for manuscript preparation
NIH-sponsored R21 grant: Magnetic Resonance and Ultrasound Imaging as Biomarkers for Detection and Monitoring of Parsonage-Turner Syndrome (PTS)
- Help recruit and consent patients for study and coordinate all study visits at multiple different timepoints
- Process bloodwork in laboratory
- Keep data records, including maintain REDCap Database
Retrospective Studies (ongoing) – Imaging/chart reviews, summary reports
- Help with literature reviews
- Manuscript editing, submission
