Bachelor’s in Nutrition, Physiology, Exercise Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related area and one (1) year of appropriate experience. Interest in performing studies using human subjects in the field of nutrition, nutraceuticals, and dietary supplements is required.
Special Conditions
The department is especially interested in candidates who possess a Master’s degree and experience performing research with human subjects.

The College is recruiting for a Research Associate I or II, therefore, the salary range represents the range for both levels.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday
7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

May need to work beyond normal work schedule.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Additional Working Conditions
Assisting with subject recruitment and screening, project oversight, data collection, data entry and database management, and biochemical analysis in the area of nutrition, nutraceuticals, and dietary supplementation is the primary responsibility. This work will be conducted within the Center for Nutraceutical and Dietary Supplement Research ( http://www.memphis.edu/nutraceutical) within the College of Health Sciences. The work will involve research with human subjects, and occasionally with animals and cells.

Assists in the daily operations in the lab, including subject recruitment and screening, study oversight, project management.

Collects, enters, and reviews data; maintains databases. This includes learning how to use new equipment, being certified/licensed in the use of equipment, and overseeing accuracy of data collection.
