About The Position

The Research Biostatistician prepares analysis plans and writes detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables, and figures; communicates with clients regarding statistical analysis issues. Interprets analyses and writes statistical sections of study reports.

This is an on-site position assigned to the Brooks City Base in San Antonio, TX. A thorough government background check will be required.

About The Project

AREVA is a program and laboratory servicing nine combat casualty care-relevant research grants carried out at prolonged critical care timelines. The mission of Areva is to enable research-to-practice translation of novel life-saving interventions in critical care via performance of clinically relevant translational trauma models followed by pre GLP and GLP testing clinical trials.

AREVA prioritizes translational research focusing on combat-relevant trauma and novel critical care interventions during care at ground level and high altitude, using a multi-disciplinary physician-led research team.

Salary Range

$85,000 - $110,000. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare analysis plans and write detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables and figures in conjunction with the on-site supervisor
  • Complete statistical analysis of independent data groups using appropriate scientific methods
  • Provide input on analysis plans and design for the analyses of multiple complex data sets from diverse scientific areas
  • Complete correlation analysis between multiple complex data sets as directed by the Principle Investigator or on site supervisor
  • Interpret analyses and write statistical sections of study reports and for scientific manuscripts
  • Maintain and update files of all applicable regulatory documentation for IACUC or IRB (including protocols, approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.) as well as any communications with the sponsor or any other Federal or regulatory office (including prior approvals, change in scope, etc.)
  • Maintain and promote Geneva’s core values of Integrity, Superior Service to Customers, Quality, Teamwork, Innovation, and Respect for All
  • Possess a working knowledge of The Geneva Foundation’s Employee Handbook, User’s Guide and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as applicable
  • Remain accessible and accountable at all times during work hours and collects messages at least twice daily
  • Return telephone messages within 24 hours of receipt; return email messages in a timely manner as appropriate
  • Comply with the dress code of The Geneva Foundation and assigned duty station
  • Promote positive, professional relationships with co-workers and The Geneva Foundation.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 2-4 years experience in statistical analysis preferred
  • 2-4 years non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired
  • Experience with large animal models and publications are preferred
  • Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
  • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner
  • Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
