What You Will Do as a Respiratory Therapist:
- Provides timely and accurate assessment and documentation for all residents receiving prescribed therapy.
- Perform therapy and testing as ordered by a physician, in accordance with policy.
- These policies include but are not limited to: Response to all emergencies, IPPB, aerosol, oxygen and nebulizer therapy, postural drainage and chest physiotherapy, breathing retraining, airway maintenance, bedside spirometry and oximetry, tracheotomy tube care, changes, and weaning.
- Cleans and maintains all equipment, using it inappropriate manner, and reports damaged or defective equipment to nursing, Assesses oxygen equipment, and supplies needs for residents receiving services for emergency services.
- Works closely with nursing to ensure appropriate functional levels of all supplies and equipment for respiratory care needs for residents.
- Document treatments in Respiratory Therapy Note within a respiratory section of the resident’s charts.
