With this position there will be a training period for 4-8 weeks in Concord ,NC. Your travel expenses (accommodations) will be covered if you are traveling from Tennessee.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Lionel’s Retail Store. This person must provide excellent customer service and supervise retail store staff. The retail store is located at the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, TN and sells Lionel Trains, Lionel Racing die-cast and other Lionel-branded merchandise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to quickly learn both Lionel trains and Lionel Racing die-cast products inside-and-out
  • Maintains store staff by scheduling, recruiting, orienting, training, coaching and appraising job results
  • Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
  • Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and current customers
  • Responsible for cash control
  • Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Formulates pricing policies and markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios
  • Organizing special promotions, displays and events
  • Secures merchandise by implementing security measures
  • Ensures standards for quality, customer service, health and safety are met
  • Responds to customer complaints and comments
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements
  • Updates colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge
  • Promotes the organization locally by liaising with local schools, newspapers and the community in general
  • Initiates changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market
  • All other duties as assigned by upper management
