Job description

The Route Rider rides along in the waste collection truck providing to assist providing services to route customers removing waste, and transferring to the appropriate drop-off location.

· Rides along in the waste collection trucks

· Operates mechanism for loading, compressing, and dumping refuse

· Rides along to designated area to deliver refuse

· Safely operates the waste collection truck’s packing and dumping apparatus

· Maneuvers trash receptables to get them loaded into the waste truck

Minimum Education and Experience:

· High school diploma

· Possess valid driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ability to - communicate effectively orally and in writing

· Understand and carry out written and oral instructions

· Knowledge of safety standard practices governing the operation of vehicles

· Knowledge of the principles, operation and servicing of trucks

· Ability to properly use, operate, and care for tools, equipment, and materials

· Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment

Work Environment:

· This position is based in White Cloud, KS.

· Frequently exposed all weather conditions depending on season

· Constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts

· Working in usually loud conditions

Physical Abilities:

• Ability to constantly get in and out of waste collection truck
• Ability to frequently lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.37 per hour

• Monday to Friday
