San Gabriel Valley Emergency Pet Clinic is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic RVT/Vet Assistant to join our team. We are a well established after hour's emergency facility. We are open nights, weekends and all holidays. We are looking for an individual able to work nights, weekends and graveyards. Applicants must have: well-developed animal handling and restraint skills, experienced nursing care while being ready to triage emergency patients and aid in emergency diagnostic tests and procedures. Looking for an individual that is a self-motivator who is also willing to be a team player. We are a small emergency but a hospital is fully equipped with modern diagnostic capabilities including a full in house laboratory, digital x-ray, and quick scan ultrasound. Full time is considered greater than 36 hours. We offer medical and dental benefits, paid vacation and retirement for full time employees.

COVID-19 considerations:
We are doing curbside service at this time. The technicians go outside to get the patients from the owners. Employees are asked to wear covid facemask/ face covering when speaking with clients, is not mandatory for staff or clients.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• RVT certification

Experience:

• Veterinary Experience: 2 years (Required)
• Veterinary Technician Experience: 2 years (Required)
• Registered Veterinary Technician: 1 Year
• Active, non-restricted veterinary technician license or certification
• Understanding of veterinary medicine, practices and procedures (surgery and clinical)
• Skill: Induce and intubate patient for anesthetic procedures
• Skill: Manage anesthetic procedures and patient recovery
• Skill: Administer medications and vaccinations
• Skill: Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture
• Expert communicator (written and verbal)
• First class customer service
• Flexible, willing to perform many job duties within the hospital
• Friendly, positive, team-oriented attitude
• The desire to learn more and take the initiative
• Desire to grow and learn
• Flexibility and willingness to perform many job duties within the hospital
