Job description
- Anticipates, recognizes, evaluates, controls, and abates health, safety and environmental issues associated with running a rubber manufacturing facility and associated laboratory facilities. Ensures compliance with all EPA, OSHA, USMCA, DOT, and other governmental requirements as they apply to the company. Train all personnel and integrate EH&S behaviors and components into Polymeric's Quality Operating System.
- College degree with additional training in EH & S areas or equivalent experience.
- Professional certification in Safety and Health- CIH or CSP, as well as experience in the Rubber industry, is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in an industrial and laboratory environment- rubber industry preferred.
- Up to date on all applicable areas of regulatory compliance and regulatory training for EPA, OSHA, DOT, FDA, NAFTA, REACH, etc.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Excellent written and verbal skills. Able to make decisions, and multi-task.
- Convey a professional image to customers, vendors and peers; emphasizing safety.
- Develop and maintain Environmental and Safety Programs.
- Prepare and file all necessary Environmental Reports & Permits (SARA 311/312, SARA 313, NPDES, SWPP, Air Emission, Industrial Waste, etc.)
- Develop and maintain a Hazard Communications Plan, Chemical Hygiene Plan, and Product Labeling Plans.
- Conduct or oversee all phases of Industrial Hygiene Monitoring including Air, Noise, and Ventilation Monitoring.
- Manage and distribute SDSs for all Finished Goods and Development Mixes, as well as manage those for all associated Raw Materials.
- Manage Compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations pertaining to the company's business.
- Conduct Safety Meetings, and Safety Training including lift truck and respiratory training; and conduct plant Safety Inspections.
- Keep current on environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Determine freight classifications, GHS labeling, and USMCA eligibility for all raw materials and finished products.
- Stay current in all regulatory aspects mentioned above, as well as specialized regulations involving ADA, FDA, REACH, GHS, RoHS, NSF, USMCA, Conflict Minerals, RCRA, etc.
- Interface with local, state, and federal regulatory personnel.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
