Part-time Sales Associate

Are you looking for an interesting, part-time job working with a great team, that also gives back to the community? Are you great at home décor, home staging, interior design and/or product merchandising? The Danbury ReStore is looking for a new store associate to join the team at our Danbury Fair Mall location. We take pride in offering some of the best of our donated furniture and home goods at great prices in this beautifully designed home décor thrift store. And to make it even better and more meaningful, all the proceeds go straight back into our community to support the Habitat for Humanity mission of providing affordable homeownership in Fairfield and Litchfield counties.

We are seeking a store associate who can work three days per week; Friday and Saturdays, 10:45am - 6:15pm and Sundays 11:45am – 5:15pm.

Responsibilities include styling the showroom, cashiering and providing information to customers about the Housatonic Habitat for Humanity mission and community outreach programs. We offer competitive pay.

Required Hours: Friday and Saturdays, 10:45am - 6:15pm and Sundays 11:45am – 5:15pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with the receiving of inventory. Unload donations and put them on the showroom floor. Some heavy lifting required up to 40 lbs, using proper moving tools such as hand trucks, dollies, etc.
• Cashiering
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing high-quality customer service and sharing information about the Habitat for Humanity mission.
• Assist customers with purchases or donations, including lifting, carrying and unloading/loading items up to 40 lbs.
• Evaluate condition/acceptability of incoming donations. Price materials to be sold. Create merchandise displays.
• Ensure that all areas of the store are safe, clean, and organized.
• Social media posts

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to consistently lift and move 40 pounds
• Must be at least 21 years old
• 1-2 years of experience in retail or service-oriented position preferred
• Good communication skills & the ability to relate well to a diverse group of individuals
• Must have computer skills, organizational skills and an eye for design/décor
• Ability to work independently with high energy
• Team Player and team leader
• Excellent written skills
• Knowledgeable on Social Media
