Who We Are

Woodfords Family Services is a nonprofit organization that's been committed to the support and inclusion of people with special needs and their families in Maine communities for over 55 years! Today, the organization provides an array of clinical, behavioral health and educational programs to more than 2,000 children, youth and adults living with autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses across the state of Maine.


Position Summary

The School-based BHP Program at Woodfords is actively searching for more BHPs to join their growing team of professionals who are committed to the support and inclusion of children and teens with special needs and their families. As a School-based BHP, you will work one-on-one with a child or adolescent within the public school setting to help achieve learning and development objectives. Individual goals are assessed and related to the learner's behaviors, social skills, personal and daily routines, and community inclusion. Through the use of evidence-based practices, you will help foster a therapeutic, enriched, and meaningful learning environment for students with developmental, mental health and/or co-occurring disorders.

Highlights:

  • Full-time, 7:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday (No Weekends!)
  • $1500 Sign-on Bonus!
  • BCBA Supervision hours for individuals completing fieldwork
  • Employer-paid school vacation week in December (in addition to accrued vacation time!)
  • Flexible Spring & Summer Vacation schedules (position follows public school calendar)


Schedule & Compensation

1 open School-Based BHP position to supports a student in 3rd grade at Leeds Central School.

School Based BHPs work full-time (30 to 40 hours weekly). The School Based Services program follows public school schedules. School Based BHPs receive a paid week off during December vacation week in addition to an employee's accrued vacation time.


$20.00 - $22.00/hour
(commensurate with experience)

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 60 college credits required, 90 credits strongly preferred. Associate's or bachelor's degree in psychology, social services, education, or related field preferred.
  • BHP certification (course can be completed as part of employment and paid for by Woodfords)
  • Valid driver's license with current auto insurance and use of a reliable vehicle
