Second Grade Position:

Role and Responsibilities:
Planning and Preparation:
- Maintain daily classroom design and schedule
- Implement Core Knowledge ELA and Envisions Math
- Tailor lesson plans to individual learners and make adjustments based on formative assessment results
Classroom Environment:
- Utilize Positive Behavior Interventions within the classroom to support students
- Arrange for small group learning stations to address a variety of learning styles
- SEL Curriculum into classroom culture
- Present a warm and energetic personality
Engaging Students in Learning:
- Plan and ask rigorous questions using the Depth of Knowledge Chart
- Use SEI strategies to support students’ language acquisition
- Intentionally plan for student collaboration and opportunities for dialogue
- Utilize data to create targeted intervention groups
Professional Practice:
- Attend and participate in weekly professional learning communities and team time as well as individual coaching
- Possess a growth mindset when it comes to engaging with relevant and mission-driven professional learning
- Attend and conduct parent-teacher conferences each school year (Fall and Spring)
- Participate in IEP, 504, and RtII meetings, when necessary
- Participate in Family Engagement events/outreach
- Partner with families to develop strong home-to-school connections
- Participate in the assigned morning, and afternoon duties
- Support, enforce, and adhere to all school policies and procedures
