Job Duties

• Schedule and meet with clients in order to obtain information necessary for the completion of interim and annual recertifications, verify and calculate income information in order to determine continuing eligibility for the section 8 program, assists clients with the completion of forms, follow-up on police reports and sends paperwork to clients as needed
• Prepares contracts, leases and other documentation for review by and signature of the Section 8 manager
• Maintains and updates files of current program participants, completes computer sheets for payments to be made, reviews check registers, and completes data entry
• Receives and responds to inquiries from clients, landlords, and others regarding the program. Mediates disputes between tenants and landlords, explains contracts to landlords
• Ensures rental amounts requested by landlords are reasonable and meet HUD payment standards and guidelines
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance
• Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions
• Relive secretary when needed
• Conduct voucher briefings

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Section 8 rules and regulations, public relations and record management preferred
• Computer operation
• 1 year of work in a human services/social services setting
• HS Diploma or GED
