Position Summary
The Senior Accounting position will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions, preparing financial statements and reports as well as tracking the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related accounting tasks. The Senior Accountant will serve as an important partner to our team and help us grow while maintaining accurate and timely financial information in a financially disciplined culture. Qualified candidates must have the ability to execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and remain open to accepting new responsibilities as the business evolves.
Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities:
- Guide financial decision with the CFO by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing accounting policies and procedures.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls for each clinic and physician.
- Work with the CFO to manage the accounting operations of each entity ensuring consistency of reporting and accounting policies and procedures throughout.
- Collect all manual entry charge batches and enter them into accounts receivable. Assure data entered is accurate and timely.
- Process payments, verify invoices and reconcile all expenses.
- Perform invoice and general ledger data entry.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries.
- Reconcile monthly bank and credit card accounts, verify deposits, address inquiries from banks, and implement the necessary solutions for any discrepancies.
- Serve as a back-up to maintain and review payroll, time tracking and expense modules to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to leadership team which would include weekly updates on key financial indicators and month end and quarterly reporting.
- Pull together all the necessary information needed to compare revenue and expenses to determine the facility’s actual financial position.
- Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Effectively maintains all required records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 5 years in an accounting role, required. CPA preferred.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles including journal entry and account reconciliation preparation, financial statement preparation, internal controls, and external audits. Healthcare experience preferred.
- Is comfortable with multi-entity financials and consolidation.
- Highly proficient with accounting software. (QuickBooks, Paycor, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, preferred).
- Advanced skills using pivot tables, and importing / manipulating data.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of payroll & benefit related principals, accounting and general ledger needed. Proficient in payroll and time tracking software applications.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously by prioritizing and delivering results within short deadlines and demonstrating high precision.
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High degree of professionalism and demeanor, with an ability to keep matters confidential.
- Command of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Completes annual education requirements.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
- Must pass criminal background check and credit check.
