The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a passionate, professional, and positive Senior Aquatics Director to join our team in Bremerton, WA.

Our thriving, YMCA Aquatics Programs focus on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and developing swimmers of all abilities. Our dedicated and knowledgeable team has a passion for aquatics resulting in a 100+ swim team with nationally ranked swimmers.

The YMCA Senior Aquatics Director is responsible for the development, implementation, leadership, and growth of the Bremerton Family YMCA Aquatics Department. Responsibilities include:

• Ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and meet the needs of the community.
• Responsible for program development, administration, and fiscal management.
• Provide excellent service to members, participants, and staff.
• Provide an impactful staff experience by recruiting and hiring, training and developing, supervising and evaluating employees and volunteers to ensure staff are representative of the mission of the YMCA.
• Ensure that safety procedures are followed and that all programs/pool decks are in compliance with YMCA standards, all regulations, and other applicable standards
• Ensure that all aquatics staff and swim instructors are certified, trained, and deliver quality programs that meet member needs and YMCA standards.
• Create and sustain an environment that values all people for their unique talents.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and members.

Qualifications:

• Five years of aquatics experience as a lifeguard, swim instructor, water exercise, and/or coaching experience is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience that includes leadership, fiscal management, program development, and staff development.
• Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• Ability to work effectively with people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, to communicate effectively, build rapport, and maintain positive relations with YMCA members, staff, and leadership.
• Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal, and written skills to educate participants, parents, and members on the YMCA Aquatics programs.
• Ability to lead by example and foster an environment of respect and care.
• Must be able to be organized, proactive, and know how to get things done.
• Must have current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.

Hours: Full-Time, hours vary. This is an exempt, salary position.
