Role Purpose

The Sr. Capacity and Performance Manager manages the direction of IHG’s Information Technology ITSM Capacity Practice/Process discipline (Infrastructure Storage, Compute and Performance) including governance, reporting, communications, executive leadership status updates and briefings, The individual will be responsible for monitoring the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements.

Key Accountabilities

• Provides leadership in IT infrastructure Capacity Management to meet the business requirements.
• Ensure that IT infrastructure capacity is optimized and matched to the evolving agreed needs of the business.
• Responsible for the Capacity Review and Reporting, which reflects the current and future needs of the business.
• Project/Forecast future capacity requirements based on business plans, usage trends, sizing of new services, etc.
• To provide advice and guidance to all other areas of the business and IT on capacity and performance related issues.
• To ensure that service performance meets or exceed agreed targets, by ensuring adequate capacity and appropriate level of monitoring of system performance are set.
• Strategic planning of changes on the Capacity Plan and the performance and capacity of services. Perform capacity impact of new service.
• To ensure that proactive measures to improve the performance of services are implemented whenever it is cost justifiable to do so.

Key Skills & Experiences

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience

• Typically, minimum of 10+ years of progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines, technologies, or processes related to the position.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

• Be responsible in driving development of polices, processes, procedure and capacity management maturity and practice
• Partner with Application and Infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses of those risks
• Review technical project documentation to identify performance and capacity impacts to the infrastructure.
• Ensures data recovery, maintenance, data integrity and space requirements are met across a variety of platforms
• Ensures that capacity workload modeling and availability analysis is performed for a variety of platforms and large environments
• Ensures reliability and availability of platforms to meet business objective
• Ensure that existing storage, compute, network capacity is being used as efficiently as possible
• Develops, manages, and forecasts storage, compute capacity requirements based on business needs and IT infrastructure growth capacity in support of new service
• Develops short and long-term prediction modeling and demand forecasting for storage, compute and network capacity
• Presents statistical availability and trend analysis and recommendations to IT management, IT leadership, and the business, as needed
• Work closely with SREs, NOC, DBA, Infrastructure, Network and QA/Engg teams to help resolve the capacity issues
• Review load/performance test results and artifacts (e.g., AppDynamics, LogicMonitor, Splunk, SAR/vmstat, application logs and Performance Center results) to measure and interpret performance and determine production impact.
• Analyze current capacity and performance management processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Design new capacity and performance management processes, including defining roles and responsibilities.
• Develop capacity and performance management reports and presentations.
• Provide capacity and performance management training and guidance.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure capacity and performance objectives are met.
• Research and recommend new capacity and performance management solutions as applicable
