Senior Clinical Therapist
Target Population: Individual/Family and School Based Services
Position Summary
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing administrative and clinical assistance to Clinical Therapists, ensuring operational compliance with DCFS, CCBYS and other related entities, assisting with onboarding responsibilities for new therapists and graduate interns, monitoring therapists’ caseloads, documentation, individual and group supervisions in collaboration with the Clinical Director, assisting with school-based marketing and clinical services; promoting positive, proactive, community relations, monitoring CCBYS crisis activities, assisting with internal data collections, interpretations, and strategic planning..
Essential Functions:
  • Promote trauma informed principals and interventions throughout all phases of clinical counseling support operations (individual, group counseling, crisis intervention, and school-based counseling services.
  • Assist the Clinical Director in monitoring school-based counseling services to DuPage County schools and to individuals and families at the 360 Youth Services agency site.
  • Collaborate with community partners, such as schools, police departments, juvenile probation, and mental health agencies/hospitals, to serve high-risk youth.
  • Assist the Clinical Director in monitoring timely, diligent and confidential record-keeping and counseling services to the Cornerstone, Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing programs and School-based Counseling services.
  • Assist with completion and submission of required monthly/quarterly reports
  • Attend required meetings as a senior clinical representative of 360 Youth Services
  • Work to ensure that counseling services and documentation for each program is in compliance with DHS and CCBYS requirements and agency, standards.
  • Assist with providing the community and clients with psycho-educational information and linkages to referral services to include: substance abuse, mental health treatment, educational, and employment training programs.
  • Provide professional presentations based on the needs of the community as related to high-risk youth.
  • Assist Crisis Workers (clinical therapists and graduate interns) as on call “Backup Staff “with crisis coverage as part of our 24-hour crisis response system for CCBYS as designated by the Clinical Director
  • Monitor and assist with as needed; temporary placements and follow-up family stabilization services for children/families in unresolved crisis situations and as outlined in CCBYS placement protocols.
  • Carry a small client case load and be scheduled to work for at least one “late night” per week.
  • Attend at least two trauma related trainings per year can complete all required DCFS, CCBYS and LCFS trainings.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Director and assigned staff to monitor and administer Intake and client assignments for therapist and graduate interns.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Director to execute therapists’ annual performance evaluations
  • Participate as needed with conducting staff, and graduate interns interviews.
  • Assist with staff development trainings to promote the “quality improvement process” while increasing staffs’ performance proficiencies.
  • Act on behalf of the Clinical Director during his/her absences from work.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
  • Hold a verifiable Master’s Degree in Social Work or equivalent Master’s degree in the human services field from an accredited school, State Licensed or eligible for licensure.
  • Driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Must hold at least a LPC, MFT or LSW and be willing to work diligently toward attainment of either a LCPC, LMFT or LCSW credential.
  • Knowledge of childhood trauma and at least one-year experience working with youth affected by trauma.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to have professional boundaries, relate to staff and youth in a positive, constructive therapeutic manner.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to provide the agency-designated services in an independent manner.
  • Demonstrate understanding of trauma informed care and harm reduction.
  • Knowledge of LGBTQ+ identities and affirming care model.
  • Must pass a background check before being permitted to work alone with clients.
