The Role


The Sr Director, Chief of Staff & Business Operations is responsible for supporting the $8B Enterprise and Public Sector business. The position is responsible for being the Chief of Staff, as well as managing and driving critical cross-functional initiatives. This role provides visibility across EVP, Enterprise Sales and Public Sector’s scope of responsibility to enable better decision making, identification of key focus areas, and progress tracking of top initiatives aligned with regional, functional, and corporate objectives as outlined by the North Star and Change Imperatives.

The Main Responsibilities


  • Critical adviser to the EVP, Enterprise Sales and Public Sector and subsequent leadership team in progressing key objectives and identifying and solving challenges
  • Develop and refine management system to ensure visibility by consistent monitoring of the business objectives, including all key leading indicators from a financial and operational perspective
  • Develop key messages and create presentations on behalf of senior executive by representing and communicating the priorities of leadership across the entire Lumen organization
  • Manage and drive critical cross-functional initiatives including CEO Change Imperatives
  • Provide oversight of, and creation of, linkages for cross-functional projects, initiatives, and efforts across the senior leadership team
  • Manage a team of cross-functional program managers and project managers
  • Other duties as assigned

What We Look For in a Candidate


  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Operations, or related field
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • 5+ years management experience
  • Recognizable as a leader by possessing outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of executives and constituencies
  • Strong results orientation with demonstrated track record of success
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and independent environment
  • Ability to build and sustain high performing teams
  • Experience in liaising with multiple operational contacts at executive and senior management levels
  • High degree of adaptability
  • Strong Excel, quantitative, and technical skills
  • Experience working for publicly held, US owned, global corporation Ability to support multiple locations

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
