Senior Graphic/Digital Designer (with Digital Expertise/Mastery)
Job description
About the role
The Senior Graphic/Digital designer will create and output a broad range of 2D assets to support a growing slate of high-profile live music, brand, experiential, and virtual production projects. This unique individual shows a mastery in the digital softwares, knowing the ins and outs of the Adobe Creative Suite (3D or other softwares a major plus) and shows signs of best-practice for industry standard in outputting files for production, as well as having a creative eye in being able to implement high-caliber design compositions.
Must be able to confidently and positively build and output:
Digital assets like mock-ups and concept “sketches” in the form of 2D photoshop or illustrator depictions. (High quality, client facing deliverables)
Output print-ready files for various types of production. Pre-press, communication with the Production Lead and CDs to ensure graphics are at the highest standard for final delivery. Vast knowledge of these processes is ideal and able to troubleshoot and work professionally with vendors if absolutely necessary.
Without a doubt, this role will see the project through to completion before signing off for the day, especially if there is a deadline in place. Available to shift working hours to later in the day/afternoon/evening if the project timeline calls for it.
The Senior Digital Designer works with our Creative Directors and Account Services team to generate compelling assets across various mediums with a focus on live, hybrid, AR, and digital events/activations and spatial installations. The requirements include both digital mock-ups for presentation/concept communication – as well as outputting realized, final design files for production.
This means the Digital Designer is as comfortable designing brand collateral or creating infographics for pitch decks, as they are outputting environmental wall treatments at correct scales for vendors.
This individual will be responsible for creating up-to-standard, polished deliverables that best convey the intent of the project. They are not only informational and communicative depictions – but also highly-visual, tasteful pieces of art.
The Senior Designer will work closely with the Head of 2D, as well as the Pitch Director and other heads of departments (Sales, Strategy, Production), in order to follow through with implementing the decided creative/design direction into formalized pieces of design, or print-ready graphics to be sent to vendors.
A love of music, culture, fashion, art, and technology is just as important as strong design and technical skills. An understanding of current trends, marketplace, brands and relevant aspects of culture is a major plus. This individual is an inspired person who has interest/knowledge in many different subjects, so to best grasp the breadth of work that comes into PHNTM’s realm.
The digital designer’s daily responsibilities will range from a broad range of deliverables and will be focused primarily on the creation of content pertaining to the assigned project. They will synthesize the creative direction on the basis of the brief from Creative Directors and Project Leads and generate various implementations for rounds of feedback through to final delivery. These deliverables can include quick-turnaround client-facing projects as well as more long-term, internal asks. Some expectations include (but are not limited to):
Compelling and beautifully branded Infographics: charts, graphs, timelines aesthetically aligned to the particular deck or treatment.
2D digital mockups of fashion items, marketing materials, proposed conceptual deliverables (relevant to the project)
Environmental graphics , wayfinding, exhibition design, installations, live music
Brand/Identity driven collateral like merch design, catalogs, as well as iconography, logos and graphic treatments pertaining to these items.
The successful candidate will evidence a passion for delivering beautiful and creative compositions, have immense attention to detail and be able to communicate and work well under pressure. This role requires strong communication and professionalism alongside a positive attitude and great people skills. Self-starters, independent workers, and the ability to work well with creative feedback and critique are a must.
