Greater Philadelphia YMCA Employment Opportunity!POSITION PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Facility Director/Assistant Facility Director, ensure a clean and safe branch. Supervise housekeeping/custodial staff. Perform routine and preventative maintenance as per maintenance calendar. Inform management on any foreseeable problems with the facility.
SHIFT AVAILABILITY
- Monday - Tuesday (1 pm - 9:30 pm)
- Friday (12 pm - 8:30 pm)
- Saturday and Sunday (9 am - 5:30 pm)
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on equipment as per weekly preventative maintenance calendar and maintain records.
- Ensure all safety and risk management procedures are adhered to.
- Assist and or perform projects of a special nature such as installation of new equipment. Ensure the safety and well-being of all constituents.
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on all equipment.
- Maintain shop areas in neat, organized and orderly fashion.
- Maintain current stock of maintenance supplies including but not limited to: light bulbs, paper supplies, pool chemicals etc. Ensure cost effective purchasing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 18 years old with a high school or technical high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2+ years of housekeeping or custodial experience preferred.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
- Valid driver’s license.
Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word to impart oral information and to convey detailed, spoken instructions to staff, members, children, and volunteers accurately, quickly, and loudly. Ability to perceive the nature of sounds by ear; ability to lift and carry 20-30 pounds; ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling. Ability to move about on foot quickly; ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where they actually are and clearly see at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Exposure to high levels of noise and various environmental conditions.
Acquire and maintain the following certifications:
- CPR/AED/O2/First Aid obtained through the American Red Cross (valid 2 years)
- Requisite OSHA online trainings (valid 1 year unless otherwise noted)
- Mandated Reporter Training (valid 5 years)
- Additional training and development specific to your role as reference in onboarding packet.
