Looking for an expert-level engineer within refrigeration systems to review current existing systems that are 20+ years old at a 24/7/365 facility that need to be reviewed and modernized.

This person needs to be a technical expert with refrigeration engineering and operating experience. The project will include working at the facility to review the existing refrigeration systems and PLC / control systems. Will need to have in-depth understanding of control systems (leading redesign & optimization efforts), troubleshooting & debugging refrigeration systems, generating user requirements, developing/implanting project plan/scope of work and work with project team & other stakeholders to define specifications, identify vendors, review documentation and work to troubleshoot & optimize systems following the installation period.

The initial scope will include review of the current processes as well as gaining familiarity with existing systems & what needs to be changed, put together end user requirements (URS), and design systems while applying previous working knowledge with similar work scopes as the lead Plant or Process Engineer. Once familiarity is established, the selected engineer will develop a solution, testing, and optimize systems.

At least 5-7 years of experience as a Plant or Process Engineer will be required as this person will be expected to take ownership of the system and be the point of contact for the refrigeration system optimization processes. Heavy cross-functional collaboration will be involved in the scope of work and excellent communication skills is mandatory for this project.

Previous experience working with biotech clients such as J&J, Genentech, Pfizer, etc would be highly preferred. An engineering background, experience with PLC’s (such as, Legacy Siemens PLC Systems, Allen Bradley, etc.) or control systems for refrigeration equipment and similar job scopes is required for this role.

Education: Bachelor’s in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or other related fields required.
