Upscale restaurant service ensures that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service, whether for dine-in or takeout. The Pinery is currently seeking a server to work in the front of the business taking orders, serving food and drinks, and removing dinnerware from the table in a timely manner. No formal education is necessary; however, educational programs in hospitality for this concept is preferred in addition to 3+ years of above standard serving experience.

The nature of this job requires you to be on your feet for much of your shifts. You will be the first and last impressions of The Pinery and must maintain a high level of professionalism at all times. You must possess ServeSafe and Food Handling Certificates. If you don’t have you will be required
Duties & Responsibilities:
The service staff’s primary duty is to provide excellent customer service, take orders, and deliver food & drink in a professional manner. In most situations, our service staff will be expected to answer questions regarding the menu. You will also work closely with other wait staff and the kitchen to ensure the restaurant is operated efficiently. With The Pinery, service staff are a crucial part of the overall dining experience, offering suggestions and recommendations, such as wine pairings. They help to personalize the meal and overall guest experience and their service is more attentive and formal. Servers will be required to meet with kitchen & bar staff daily, prior to service, to discuss that day's offerings, specials, our out-of-stocks. Topics in these meetings may include specials, food preparation, and testing on ingredients used, especially if there may be a potential allergen to some diners.
Additional duties of The Pinery service team will also include:
▪ Participating in kitchen, take-out, washroom, and dining area cleaning.
▪ Resolve any complaints regarding service in a timely & professional manner.
▪ Record production, operational, and personnel data on specified forms.
▪ Perform various financial activities, such as cash handling, deposit preparation, and compile plus balance income receipts at the end of day/shift. ▪ Greet and seat guests, and present both food & beverage menus. Set tables and clear tables as part of the team effort of clean service standards.
▪ Perform drink preparation and serving duties, such as taking orders and serving/suggesting beverage menu. Present bills and accept payments.
▪ Ensure food & beverage being delivered to table or take-out customer is accurate with correct plating, glassware, eating utensils, and garnishing before presenting to customer.
Requirements:
▪ Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
▪ A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with team & guests.
▪ Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
▪ Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $65.00 per hour
