Sex Education and LGBTQ2SIA+ Coordinator
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, 1 FTE
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
LOCATION Hybrid/Main office - 410 NE 18th Ave.
COMPENSATION: $46,162 - $51,000 Based on Experience
Latino Network seeks a bilingual, mission-driven professional with bicultural proficiency and proven experience in reviewing and updating curricula, training and implementation of community health programming, in particular comprehensive sexuality education for middle and high school aged youth and parents. The coordinator will work collaboratively with the Health and Wellness Department and EAP team members to coordinate trainings, and support with internal scheduling and preparing materials for staff before and during programming.

In this role you will support our community by:
- Carries out the program implementation plans, including logistics, coordinating with other teams and departments within Latino Network, outreach and recruiting, and data collection
- Coordinates meetings, and training schedules and supports staff and community members in their learning of culturally-specific sexual health and relationship curricula and interventions that are medically accurate, comprehensive, trauma-informed, racially affirming, LGBTQ inclusive, and age-appropriate, including information on access to abortion, to promote healthy behaviors
- Coordinates the purchase of program materials as needed for department and sessions
- Works with Educational Access Program Manager and Health and Wellness Program Manager, program directors, and school- and community-based staff to plan the logistics for implementing the curriculum,
- Supports the implementation of program-specific evaluation and assessment plans developed in-house or with program partners, including inputting data into multiple databases
- Documents program practices and methods for program sustainability
- Provides information for program updates and reports as necessary for funders
- Attends relevant local conferences and training to inform best practices
- Establishes a safe, fun, and youth-focused environment where participants are encouraged and supported in the development and strengthening of social, leadership, and academic skills and behaviors
What we are looking for:

- Education in a health-related field OR a Community Health Worker certification, OR equivalent skills, experience, and/or training.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English required.
- Experience in implementing programs for Latinos, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively train colleagues, particularly in sexuality education curricula.
- Demonstrated outcomes in developing and implementing health and wellness programming for youth and adults.
- Knowledge of culturally based world view, adaptive reasoning, and problem solving practices of Latino individuals, families, and community living in urban neighborhoods impacted by crime, poverty, and racial inequity.
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about trauma informed care and strengths-based practices.
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about youth who may be involved in gangs or impacted by them.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with schools, students, families, and other community partners.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow direction and implement strategies.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptive to successfully achieve the functions of the position as described in the job responsibilities.
- Experience and training needed to perform the functions of the position as described in the job responsibilities.
- Successful completion of initial and ongoing employment screens, including but not limited to criminal background and vehicle record as required.
