The Collaborative: A Healing Centered Community at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, caring, and team-oriented Social Worker (licensed LMSW in MD State at minimum). The selected candidate will apply specialized and theoretical knowledge, principles, and concepts to social work. Resolve issues and significant matters on behalf of management. The Social Worker will contribute to the development and evaluation of the goals and objectives of the program. The candidate will create solutions to ensure legal and policy compliance. This position will report to the Community Program Director.
The mission of The Collaborative is to prevent, intervene, and heal from trauma and violence in all forms. We accomplish our mission through partnerships between grassroots, non-profits, city agencies, and institutes of higher education by engaging in service provision, education, and research.

Essential Functions
- Social Worker works under the supervision of a Social Worker (LCSW-C) and applies the theories, knowledge, procedures, methods, and/or ethics derived from a formal educational program in social work to restore or enhance social functioning of individuals, couples, families, groups, organizations or communities through assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and advocacy to maximize the individual’s well-being.
- Assess risk by screening and interviewing clients. Identify and construct service plans that best meet the client’s needs and determine best resources available.
- Develop plans by identifying programs and services available for a variety of client issues dealing with challenges, change, and crisis.
- Maintain case history records and document client(s) progress. May perform chart reviews and generates notes on evaluations, therapy sessions, reports and other accountability measures.
- Counsel individuals, groups, families, or communities regarding issues including mental health, poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, physical abuse, rehabilitation, social adjustment, childcare, and/or medical care in accordance with licensure.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to others preparing for use of resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Master's Degree in Social Work.
Certification/Licensure: Licensed Master Social Work - (LMSW) in the State of Maryland.
Other: No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement.

The hiring range for this position is in the low to mid $60,000s, commensurate with education and experience.
