What you will have an opportunity to do:

JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for monitoring spa facilities, ensuring positive and friendly guest relations. Observes all activity within assigned areas, offer assistance and instruction to guests/visitors.

REPORTS TO: Spa Supervisor, Spa Manager/Director.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

All Spa areas.

Job involves working:

  • under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).
  • under variable noise levels.
  • outdoors/indoors.
  • around fumes and/or odor hazards.
  • around dust and/or mite hazards.
  • around chemicals.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Staff in Spa, Food and Beverage, Rooms, Laundry, Housekeeping and Engineering

External: Hotel guests/visitors, Spa members.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate. Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal. Provide legible communication and directions. Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers). Ability to:

  • perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • prioritize, organize and follow up.
  • be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
  • follow directions thoroughly.
  • understand guest’s service needs.
  • work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • work with minimal supervision.
  • maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

Desirable:

Experience in Hospitality Industry in similar position. Previous guest relations training Fluency in a second language, preferably .

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Essential:

Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. Always maintain positive guest relations. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas. Follow Spa opening procedures. Review log book/memo board. Set up and monitor music. Inspect Spa. Set up and maintain fruit (lemons, limes, cucumbers, melons, pineapples, strawberries). Set up and maintain water stations. Prepare and maintain iced tea and hot tea stations. Maintain massage rooms. Maintain relaxation lounges. Stock and maintain lockers and locker rooms. Greet guests upon arrival. Check in guests. Handle emergency procedures. Remain at station. Clean telephones. Maintain towel/linen, sandal, and robe supplies. Run clean and dirty laundry to and from Spa and Laundry facility. Keep Laundry Room clean and organized. Clean and maintain locker rooms, restrooms, and shower areas. Inspect and maintain hot tubs, steam rooms, and infrared sauna. Sweep and mop floors. Empty trash containers. Check treatment room closets. Handle lost and found items. Depart guests. Break down fruit stations. Break down water stations. Break down iced tea and hot tea stations. Follow closing side work procedures. Check out with Supervisor.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist with other Spa job functions as assigned. Document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Manager/Supervisor.
