Job description
We are looking for an experienced Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to join our team at HJE.
The outpatient physiotherapy department at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth provides specialist assessment and treatment to patients with musculoskeletal (MSK), hand therapy, pelvic health, neurological and respiratory problems/conditions. Our aim is to deliver evidence-based, high quality care, which is achieved through a clear governance strategy, service planning, development and multidisciplinary team working
Located in leafy St John’s Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, our independent private Hospital has just been rated the number one in the country for care in the latest Bupa survey. Uniquely, all profits fund our onsite Hospice, St John’s.
Am I the right person for this Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist role?
· BSc (hons) degree in Physiotherapy or diploma or equivalent
· Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration for physiotherapy
· Evidence of post graduate professional development in Pelvic Health specialism
· Evidence of study or intending to study at Masters level
· Member of specialist interest group
· Evidence of additional specialist knowledge acquired through relevant post-graduate physiotherapy training.
· Experience of working with an array of patients in an outpatient setting.
· Experience of a wide range of approaches for the management of complex patients.
· Awareness of cognitive behavioural approach to rehabilitation.
· Knowledge and experience of audit and research.
· Experience of lecturing/teaching
· Evidence of staff and service management.
· Evidence of service development experience.
· Experience of multidisciplinary team working.
· Experience of working at Band 7 level
· Experience of teaching to own professional group and MDT
What are the Responsibilities of this Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist role?
· To work as an autonomous practitioner, within scope of practice and deliver a quality clinical service; meeting the clinical and strategic needs of the hospital.
· To perform an advanced clinical assessments of pelvic health patients including those with highly complex presentations and from this formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan, which is carried out as an autonomous practitioner.
· To interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts to form accurate diagnoses in a wide range of highly complex pelvic health conditions.
· To be highly competent in assessing a wide range pelvic health conditions based on advanced theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, often in situations where conflicting evidence is present
· To support the development of the Pelvic Health service, striving to ensure best practice, maximum efficiency and productivity and cost effectiveness.
· To supervise, initiate and participate in evidence based projects and lead in-service training sessions as required.
· To supervise, initiate and participate in audit and service reviews and evaluations as appropriate.
· To develop and foster productive relationships with key stakeholders e.g. Consultants, GPs, patient groups and other links.
· To supervise, teach and appraise members of the team as required.
· To develop and promote a positive, dynamic image and culture to both internal and external stakeholders. At all times striving to reflect and encourage the hospital’s values.
