Summary
This role, based out of Twin Falls, ID, will be responsible for managing and overseeing the specification management system to streamline the creation, collaboration, review, approval and distribution of specifications (e.g., finished product, ingredients, in-process product, and packaging) to both internal and external stakeholders. This position will be responsible for collaborating effectively with New Product Development (NPD), R&D, Procurement, Operations, Packaging and Quality Assurance (including Site Quality, Regulatory, Supplier Quality and Food Safety) to ensure that specification templates for finished goods, ingredients, in-process product and packaging are complete, accurate to product/process and in compliance with regulatory and labeling requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the specification creation, revision, and approval process.
- Ensure that active specifications are current and available/published in the system.
- Manage and maintain the archival of obsoleted specifications.
- Partner with appropriate departments/sub-departments (e.g., NPD, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Logistics, etc.) to ensure accuracy of the contents of the specifications.
- Ensure that related specifications (e.g., individual specifications to parent/master specifications) and documents (e.g., drawings, test methods, etc.) are properly linked.
- Analyze specification data, identify issues/gaps, and consult with subject matter experts on corrective actions.
Requirements
- BS degree in liberal arts or technical studies, such as food science, chemistry, biology or other related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the food industry with a focus on specification management.
- Must be knowledgeable of applicable regulations and labeling requirements (e.g., FDA PMO, FDA PCHF, US FDA 21 CFR Part 11, Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA), US Fair Packaging Labeling Act, Canada Consumer Product and Labelling Act, Kosher and Halal certification requirements, etc.
- Experience with SAP Product Life Management (PLM) or equivalent preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Skilled in effective communication and collaboration.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities/projects and deliver within deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Skilled in presenting data in both written form and verbally.

Compensation Range: $78,400.00 - $117,600.00, plus bonus.
