Job Description
T & K Pediatric Services is looking to add a Speech Language Pathologist to our team! If you have a passion for helping children overcome speech or language obstacles, and desire to be a part of a positive, professional organization we encourage you to apply. This position is available for a CFY candidate.
Duties & Responsibilities
Evaluate clients
Help clients and clients' families establish goals
Attend individualized family service plan (IFSP) meetings for children & their families.
Consult with teachers, parents, or medical providers as necessary
Follow-up
Provide referrals when appropriate
Maintain records
Education & Experience
Master's degree in Communications Disorders is required.
Skills & Competencies
Compassion: It is essential that speech pathologists are concerned about clients' well-being and can offer them emotional support.
Patience: The individuals under your care may not respond to treatment quickly. It's important to have patience until established goals are met.
Listening and Speaking Skills: Must be able to clearly communicate with clients, family members, and other members of a therapy team in order to deliver the most effective treatment.
Critical Thinking: When deciding on a treatment plan, you must evaluate the available options before choosing the best one.
Attention to Detail: This skill is critical in order to carefully document clients' progress.
Work Environment
The work frequently involves working one-on-one with children in addition to consulting with teachers, parents, or doctors, depending on the specific type of work being done.
