Overview

HHS is seeking a candidate who will work directly with Product Owners, business SMEs, and data analysts as the lead in understanding and documenting business requirements.

MUST HAVE SKILLS-

· Hands-on experience in data management, data warehousing, data transformation, metadata and reference data management and business intelligence tools

· Experience working as a data modeler in large business environments.

· Hands-on expertise in SQL

· Hands-on experience in Data Modelling and Metadata management

· Experience designing and building OLAP data warehouses with very strong data analysis skills.

· Working experience on Modern data platforms which involves Microsoft Azure offerings

· Working experience in Power Designer or related database design tool

· Comprehensive Knowledge of Ralph Kimball, Data Modeling Concepts (Logical & Physical) including 3NF, Star/Snowflake schemas, &other design principles

· Excellent presentation and communication skills (oral, written, and visual).

· Works well in an Agile team environment with business and technical team members.

· Able to take ownership of the data modeling process for a project from start to end - business requirements gathering through working with data and

· Test engineering teams in design, development, and implementation of the data model.

· Business analysis or business requirements gathering and documentation for a project.

· Depth in data analysis, database design, logical and physical data modeling (entity-relationship diagrams) and data flow diagrams.

· Good understanding of master data management and data quality requirements and controls.

· Recent experience in hands-on software development is a big advantage

· Experience in work automation.

· Proven proficiency with data analysis and ability to troubleshoot data issues

· Positive attitude towards challenges

Job Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Product Owners, business SMEs, and data analysts as the lead in understanding and documenting business requirements
  • Work with the data architect and data analyst to translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models (database model design)
  • Ability to implement approved database model design approach
  • Review the data model with both technical and business audiences as well as Data Governance
  • Define data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development methodologies.
  • Design the flow and integration of information between Applications for structured and unstructured data
  • Optimize flow of data
  • Learn and stay informed of the ways the Child Welfare or partnering Business Units uses its data

Abilities

  • Data modeler who is at the forefront of data management measures that support organizational data structures for an application or set of applications.
  • Systems analyst who works with data architects and database administrators to design databases and plays an integral role in helping Vision application achieve end goals in nearly every area of operation, including product lifecycle and customer experience.
  • Ability to ensure application’s data is organized correctly and optimized into a transactional database to help achieve business critical objectives (functional and non-functional).
  • Ability to Analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models. Evaluating existing data systems. Working with the development team to create conceptual data, logical and physical models, and data flows.
  • Ability to work with the DBA identify and define large requirement data changes to a working data model without negative impact on scalability and performance.
  • A good model provides predictable performance.
  • Ability to apply Normalization rules and various modeling techniques in Power Designer, Erwin, or any relational database tool to understand and analyze how an application should create, update, and store data.

(1) Ability to identify the required Entities and related attributes from Business requirements, applying Normalization rules to optimally organize data storage while maintain referential integrity.

(2) Ability to know when to de-normalize.

(3) Establish OLTP Data Model

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
