Responsible to the Accounting Director for conducting complex assignments involving assignments or financial analysis. The position requires a broad knowledge of accounting practices and procedures and calls for originality and ingenuity in developing strategies. Presents strategy recommendations to management. Provides training and guidance to less experienced staff.
Responsibilities:
- Performs general ledger accounting by preparing journal entries and other general ledger-related activities.
- Support in the preparation of income statement and balance sheet statements
- Support in the preparation of budget and budgetary controls
- Process ocean, air, and inland freight invoices for payment.
- Perform monthly internal controls reviews in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
- Prepares financial and operational analysis and reporting to management.
- Process miscellaneous account receivable invoices.
- Provide support and backup to accounting team members for all accounting activities.
- Coordinate with other departments, business units, and/or divisions on accounting matters.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and 4 years of experience or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- SAP knowledge is preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
