Rome Research Corporation is seeking full time, on-site or remote Senior RMF Cybersecurity Specialist/Engineer in support of the CAAI initiative for workload in San Diego, CA. The Senior RMF Cybersecurity Specialist/Engineer will provide dedicated support for the creation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization packages for RMF Interim Authorization to Test (IATT) and Authority To Operate (ATO) of Information System (IS) necessary to support the CAAI initiative.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform, create, and track to completion the RMF packages for IATT and full ATO. Is responsible to fulfill assignments in accordance with RMF to assess and authorize the CAAI IS.
  • Generate all applicable package documentation and create and document all artifacts as necessary. Will need to work closely with the system integrator to gather all required artifacts. This includes:
    • Adhere to the Navy-specific processes to identify and properly manage the risk of Navy Information Technology (IT) in accordance with the DoD Instruction (DoDI) 8510.01, Risk Management Framework for DoD Systems, taking into consideration Navy–unique operational and environmental demands detailed in the Department of Navy Risk Management Process Guide and all superseding updates to the document.
    • Collaborate with the designated Functional Authorizing Official (FAO), Trusted Package Submitting Officer (TPSO), Commanding Officer (CO), and/or their representatives for IATT and ATO packages throughout all steps of the RMF process.
    • Develop and update documents as required by DoD, DON, TYCOM, and Navy Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
    • Assess, document, and report all security controls within eMASS.
  • Attend meetings with project team and/or leadership as needed.
  • Must have strong understanding, experience, and working knowledge of working with the DoD, Navy specific RMF policies, eMASS, and the working to full completion/granting of IATTs and ATOs is these systems.


Required Skills
  • Strong understanding, experience, and working knowledge of Navy specific RMF policies, eMASS application, and working to full completion/granting of IATTs and ATOs.
  • Experience with Navy and/or DOD RMF systems.
  • Minimum 7+ years of related experience with DoD and Navy RMF submittal of ATOs and IATTs.
  • Customer service skills required; project a positive image and professional manner at all times; ability to work within the confines of a set time schedule.
  • Knowledge and experience working IATTs in short time frames and working an ATO from start to being granted final authorization.
  • The appropriate/required certifications.
      • IAT-III certification such as CISSP or equivalent
      • Secret Security Clearance

Salary Range $140,000.00 - $160,000.00
