Job description
This role is responsible for acting as the principal systems engineer for multiple hardware and software implementation and upgrade projects.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Administration and monitoring Red Hat Linux Operating System in an enterprise level environment
  • Experience with high availability configurations and managing virtual environment
  • Installs and supports primarily Red Hat Linux server operating systems
  • Responsible for the build, operation, and on-going support of servers including data storage and peripherals
  • Responsible for maintaining backups and SAN replication.
  • Responsible for disk allocation from SAN
  • Leads or assists in developing purchase specifications
  • Responsible for the management and repair of server hardware, software, tools, and peripherals
  • Ensures servers are updated and patched
  • Ensures server security compliance
  • Manages access to principle of least required
  • Performs server break/fix functions and makes recommendations for corrective action
Qualifications:
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or an associated field.
  • Possess at least 8 years of hands-on experience as a Linux Administrator.
  • Expert-level knowledge and understanding of all aspects of RedHat Linux.
  • Well-versed in Linux scripting language fundamentals.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of installing, organizing, and maintaining services like Apache Tomcat, Apache Web, Oracle, Hadoop, Nodejs etc.
  • Proven experience of dealing with networking such as firewalls, load balancing, etc.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of SAN, UCS Blade and VMWare management and installation.
  • Possess hands-on experience of working with protocols like HTTP, DNS, LDAP, SNMP, SSH and SMTP.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Possess excellent communication skills that facilitate interaction with multiple stakeholders.
  • Confident, detail-oriented, and highly motivated to contribute to the growth of the organization as part of a high-performing team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $99,200 to $143,900 depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
