The Staff Accountant will provide support with a variety of accounting activities and related tasks. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for validating proper payroll coding and re-allocating invoices as well as G/L account analysis affecting financial programs within the organization.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

· Helps re-allocate monthly accounts payable expenses

· Reviews general ledger account and department classifications for all affiliates entities

· Performs general account analysis

· Prepares accrued and prepaid schedules

· Assists with monthly bank reconciliations

· Various other analysis as requested

· Various ad hoc reports as requested

· Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Requirements:

· Possession of a bachelor’s degree in accounting required

· 4-6 years of experience

· Possession of strong organizational skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments

· Able to work collectively with other team members

· MS Office skills essential

· Strong MS Excel skills required

· Knowledge of Great Plain 2018 accounting software is a plus!

Knowledge:

· Accounting - Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

· Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

· English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

· Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

· Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications.

Work Activities:

· Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

· Interacting With Computers — Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, set up functions, enter data, or process information.

· Excel Skills – Proficiency with common Excel functions like vlookup and pivot tables preferrable.

· Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.

· Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards — Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

· Getting Information — Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.

· Processing Information — Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

· Documenting/Recording Information — Entering, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form.
