Job Description:
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Bureau of Claims Processing is seeking to hire a highly motivated individual to provide administrative assistance to the Error Resolution Section Manager in the implementation and oversight of programs, information gathering needed to assess progress in implementation of bureau priorities, organization of background materials for use by the Error Resolution Section Manager. In addition, the ideal candidate acts as a representative of the Error Resolution Section Manager at internal and external meetings, answer questions from internal staff or external stakeholders regarding claims processing programs, managing the Error Resolution Section Manager’s calendar and schedule, developing agendas for meetings, making travel arrangements for the Error Resolution Section Manager, and competing other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will be independently motivated with a strong desire to support processes within the Bureau of Claims Processing, will have highly developed organizational, interpersonal and teambuilding skills, and will have prior experience in supporting claims processing policy and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
- Serves as assistant to the Error Resolution Section Manager of Claims Processing
- Conducts and coordinates special studies and investigations regarding Claims Processing Programs
- Serves as liaison with other Agency Bureaus, Sections, other administrative or management staff
- Analyzes, disseminates, tracks, and follows up on controlled correspondence, policy notices and verbal request pertaining to policy/program issues from the public and/or other Department Bureaus/Sections
- Drafts standardized reports
- Maintains the Error Resolution Section Manager’s calendar and gathers materials for the Error Resolution Section Manager to utilize in meetings
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration
- Requires one (1) year professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of professional experience working with Medicaid-covered claims and payment processes
- Two (2) years of professional office experience working for private or professional organization handling sensitive and confidential information
- Two (2) years of professional experience utilizing Microsoft software applications, specifically Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Word, and similar software
- Two (2) years of experience proofing, composing, and editing correspondence and statistical reports
- One (1) year of professional experience serving as liaison for an agency or public or private organization interpreting programs, rules, and regulations.
