ASRC Federal InuTeq proudly supports NASA's High Performance Computing Services program in Mountain View, CA at Ames Research Center and in Greenbelt, MD at Goddard Space Flight Center. We have an immediate position for a Staff Systems Administrator/DevOps Engineer to join our team. US Citizenship is required. Make a DIFFERENCE on a program that supports 4 On-site Supercomputers 18,000+ node, 17+ combined petaflop supercomputer systems. This role supports the hundreds of infrastructure systems that support HPC operations.

  • Manage day-to-day Tier 2/3 operations services and such as Linux Workstation management, Mac management and seamless end-to-end integration with NASA agency services and HPC program resources
  • Escalate service issues with Tier 3 Systems Administrators/DevOps Engineers to work through service and system issues
  • Deescalate appropriate issues to Tier 1 resources and work with Tier 1 staff on inter-tier synergies
  • Assist in the development and management for the Ansible/RHEL provisioning environment
  • Maintain system platforms-as-a-service
  • Proactively monitor, analyze, and correct system issues
  • Intergroup cooperation to continually develop implement DevOps strategy appropriate for the program
  • Project work, individually and team oriented to provide growth opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

ASRC Federal is seeking a Staff Systems Administrator/DevOps Engineer with a passion for working with complex Linux systems for our NASA, High Performance Computing/Supercomputing Program in Mountain View, CA.

  • Bachelors of Science in Computer or related field and 3+ years of experience related to operational systems support in a Linux heavy based environment
  • Experiencing managing and administering Linux workstations and servers
  • Experience managing and administering Apple systems
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail supporting hundreds of users
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in a complex environment beyond systems from networks to other dependent system(s)
  • US Citizenship is Required for the NASA Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated competency of provisioning and configuration management of medium size Linux environments using tools such as RHEL Satellite and Ansible
  • Ability to work with system configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible) and revision control software such as Git
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Bash Shell, Python, etc.
